As a part of the health program, 100% to the Children provide general medicine for the children of Kibarani. Twice a month a a nurse and assistant nurses go to the community and treat the children up to 18 years old. The treatment takes place at Kibarani Nursery School and lasts for 2-3 hours during which the parents bring their children to the team. The team treats 25-30 children average on such a day.
Common health problems are as shown on this chart:

The challenges the team meets when treating in the community are numerous:
- With no clinic facility the treatment takes place inside a classroom and the medicine, patient’s records and utensils are brought every time.
- The team works extra hard at keeping the medicine and treatment sanitary, as a classroom used for 60 children during the day is not the most favourable place for treating open burns and wounds.
- Diagnosing the children is a challenge of its own. With no opportunity for laboratory work it is essential to treat the children broadly, but still be attentive to the quantity of medicine that the child is given.
- The lack of knowledge of the different diseases and how to prevent them generates more patients for the team. Therefore 100% to the Children also focuses on education of the caretakers. Furthermore maltreatment at home although in the best attention of the caretaker creates more problems.
